Mechamato is an animated television series produced by Animonsta Studios.

Synopsis[]

This series tells the story of a kind and creative boy named Amato, who comes across a prison spaceship housing many evil robots. One of them is MechaBot, who has the ability to mechanize everyday objects into high tech devices. Amato outsmarts MechaBot and becomes his master. The two bond together as friends over the course of the series and team up in the form of a superhero named Mechamato to locate and capture the evil robots that had escaped the fallen spacecraft.[2]

  • The name of the series is the combined name of MechaBot and Amato, which refers to the main characters of the series.
  • There are many elements of Japanese culture in the series such as the katana used by one of the characters and the Japanese writing on one of the characters in the Monsta promotional image above.
    • In addition, the main protagonist, Amato is seen more absorbing the anime's identity in terms of its design; spiky hair, slightly larger eyes and a slightly tapered nose.
  • Mechamato will be a 104-episode series that will be launched in multiple countries besides Malaysia as stated by Nizam Razak, the founder of Animonsta Studios.
    • It will also be aired on both TV and released on YouTube, like it was done with the BoBoiBoy Galaxy series.
    • It will be broadcast in more than 19 countries in the Asia-Pacific region through Cartoon Network. Some of these countries include the likes of Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, and China(Hong Kong and Taiwan only).[4]
      • Jetpack Distribution has secured the rights to the show and will be making it available worldwide (excluding Asia).[5]
      • The series was exported in Portugal airing on SIC K since September 3, 2022.[6]
    • The first season will contain 26 episodes.[7]
    • It will be dubbed in 12 languages, including Japanese and Korean.[8]
      • The series was reanimated for the English dub.
  • Mechamato has come to fruition after less than a decade.
  • It's confirmed by Sir Nizam himself that the franchise will be seperated into two parts. Gear 1, a.k.a part 1, consists of the first Mechamato Movie and the series following Season 1 - Season 4. Meanwhile, Gear 2 a.k.a part 2, consists of the second movie and the series following Season 5 - Season 8.
